Where I’m At

Hello everyone,

This is going to be the start at my attempt to be more consistent at writing a monthly post.

To start off, I have way more ideas in my head than what I have time to write. To top it all I’m graduating this May and I need to find a job that can help support me and my family. Despite my best efforts and wishes, I am in fact not a best selling author (yet), which means I’m on the job hunt.

With that aside I still plan on continuing my efforts to write good books and stories that people will love to read.

For my main series, for which I’ll dub Marvin and the Necromancer, I have nearly finished it! I started this project for Nanowrimo back in 2018. I didn’t fully finish writing the book until August of 2020 and it has been an ongoing process of editing it to death. I hope to have it ready to submit to publishers by the end of April (if possible).

The actual title of the piece is call “March of the Necromancer”, and I hope to have a first chapter available for everyone to catch a glimpse of what I have been working on for so long.

Another project of mine that I’m calling “Dark Lord” is based on the world that I created for my short story “Caught” that was published in UVU’s Warp & Weave Journal. The story is meant to follow 2 different timelines. No I don’t mean 2 different points of view (although that is looking to be what it is set as), I meant what I said that it’s going to be covering the story from 2 different time periods set within this fictional world that I have created.

The first point of time will be set in the future, and the second will be one of the past. I won’t share a lot of the story line since I want this to be a surprise, but I will say that I created this all from a result of reading Tolkien back at the beginning of 2020. The world is unique, filled with it’s own gods and monsters to fill its pages. I will be starting to out line the story as soon as I finish editing “March of the Necromancer”.

A third book series that I plan on writing in collaboration with my brother, is called Lights of Solaria. I’ve had thoughts for this world floating about my head for a while, but nothing that I can work with yet. I’m hoping that we can start working on it together soon and planning out a basic outline together.

This past Nanowrimo helped inspire me to return to my first novel that I wrote. I technically finished writing it in about 4-5 years (which was roughly between 2011-2016 that I had been working on it). I had decided that I had done all I could with that story as it was just taking me way too long to write it and I moved on to other things. Since then I feel like I have grown a lot in those 5years. I wrote another book that I plan on returning to one day, and I’ve written “March of the Necromancer” during the 5 years that I left it, so hopefully my pace on writing stories only continues to increase with each year.

Besides that, Life continues as always. I hope that you enjoyed this update as I hope to do this at least once a month (at minimum), and I hope to share more of my stories as I continue to write!

See you all next month.
