Dragons in My Life

Another Month is here, and I am still plodding along with life.

A lot has been going on with my life and family. First off, my mom has been having a tough time with her leukemia. She’s had it for a while now, but it has just been within these last few months that it’s really started taking its toll on her, and us. About a month and a half ago, she was admitted to the hospital due to an issue with her cancer, and it caused her to stay there for almost a month as they worked to bring the situation under control. Part of this involved going through rigorous Chemotherapy to fight back the cancer and to get her back up on her feet.

And then we had the meeting with the doctor.

The doctor said that things could get worse again if not treated soon, so my mom went back in to get the treatment done. She’ll have some hard radiation and chemotherapy to help fight the cancerous cells, once they’re gone the doctors will then do a bone marrow transplant to help provide her with new and untainted cells. We’re hoping that this does the trick and gets her back on her feet again.

My mom is a dragon in my life. I say this because she has been one of the strongest women I know and has gone through so much. She has weathered so much and is always ready to bounce back and fight. She has really been an inspiration to me in her fight against cancer.

Another dragon in my life who has fought hard fights is, of course, my wife. She has done so much to raise our kids and to keep going, even when things have been hard for her, she tries her best to take care of everyone’s needs. She’s especially been through a lot this last year, and life keeps throwing us some crazy curve balls. Hopefully, things will get better as time goes on.

These two women have been a big inspiration in who I am as a person, a father, a son, and a husband. Everything I have done in life has a direct correlation with them and I love them both with all my heart.

Writing

So far things are going great. I’m enjoying the freedom that comes with being able to rotate through my projects, but that doesn’t mean I’m not looking for ways to improve it. With some of the crazy things that have been going on in my life I have found that my writing time has gone down a little and has been suffering the past few weeks. But that does not mean that I am behind. On the contrary, I am still where I planned to be with my writing, even if it’s not where I wanted it to be. As plans change and adjust, so will these goals so that I can get more writing done.

It is now time for the next chapter in the Muldrix story, Scales: Part One. I am hoping that with more writing time I’ll be able to get Scales: Part Two up and ready by next month. If I can keep this going, then I might be able to have a chapter of Muldrix and the gang published each month, but that’s only if I can get ahead. I don’t like tight deadlines and I want to avoid being too close to the wire with being overwhelmed.

I am also toying with making my own cover for the Muldrix series and should be able to show that off to you all soon. I want to make sure that it’s a cover I can get behind and one that I think will get people excited.

As always, please share and post for friends and family to enjoy this free story with you. Again, I hope to have more soon, and I will see you all next month! Happy Easter.
