Cause its Hot then it’s Cold

It seems like this year can’t be more confusing with the weather. Right when it supposed to be warming up is when we get the most snow. Things were really looking up; the sun was out a little more and the temperature seemed to be on the rise as well. And then it hit with another snowstorm. A week after that it was back up to over 70-degree temperatures, only to drop back down to the 50’s yesterday and this morning. I feel like I’m in a bad relationship with the weather and our love song is Katy Perry’s “Hot N Cold” song and we’re stuck living the chorus  ‘Cause you’re hot then you’re cold You’re yes then you’re no You’re in then you’re out You’re up then you’re down.’

On another note, I saw “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” and I loved it. The sense of nostalgia and fun times playing Super Mario games kept coming up with all the Easter eggs they had for the video games. I won’t spoil anything because it was all awesome! However, I will share a link for Bowser singing his song Peaches. I’ve had that song stuck in my head for over 2 weeks now and I’m still loving it. In my book this is an 8/10 movie and worth the time to watch. I would’ve given it a 9/10 but as so many people pointed out it didn’t have a good plot, which I would agree with. But, I would say that it had the same plot that it’s always had, which has always been geared towards kids. If you’re looking for a more “grown up” version of Mario then perhaps you might want to try “Super Mario Bros.” 1993 adaptation. It’s been years since I’ve seen that movie and for good reason. I wasn’t expecting a masterpiece, but what I was hoping for was for a movie that was like the games, and I did. If you’re not a gaming person then perhaps watch something else than a kid’s movie.

Last year’s Accomplishments

Last year I had set myself a goal to write a book for my son. I started at the beginning of the year and was able to write “the end” in November/December. There was still a lot of editing that needed to be done, but I had done it. On top of all that I had even committed myself to illustrating the book myself. The hope had been to have everything ready by Christmas, which was less than a month away. Crazy, I know. I even thought it would be possible to get everything printed and made in time for Christmas. But while reading the book to my wife to help edit the grammar and plot of the new story she pointed out that it needed more substance. Encouraged and dismayed, I went over the story I had made for my son. I’m still sitting on it; it’s still here, it may just be that the story won’t be ready as a gift for him until next Christmas.

Hobbies

I haven’t been able to forge for a while. It turns out that making myself available for 2-3 hours over the weekend is a lot harder than I thought. However, before I went to write this new post I realized that my hobbies did not only include forging, which has just been a more recent hobby that I wanted to get into. My other hobbies include playing Magic: The Gathering, and playing small video games, such as on the switch and on my phone. Last week I went out with my father and brothers-in-law to play Pokémon Go. We had a blast, and it was nice to get out of the house and do something that didn’t revolve around work or errands. So often our lives revolve around having a good enough reason to do something before we go and do it that it never happens. We didn’t catch any rare Pokémon, but we had some good laughs. In case some of you don’t know the game it lets you pick teams and about half of us were on one time, while the other half were on another. It became interesting when we were literally fighting our Pokémon against each other for the same resources.

Writing

So I finally finished the next Chapter of Muldrix. I’m still going to have to edit it, but I thought I would at least post it on here for you all to enjoy. You can find it on my Muldrix story page here. I’m sure at some point I will get to it, but I just recently had my novel, “March of the Necromancer” edited, and I have been working on that for the last 2 or so weeks trying to polish it up. My hope is to be able to start sending it out to Publishers soon so I can try and get it published. I’ve looked into self-publishing but never really felt that was an option unless I wrote longer books faster. Hopefully one day I can, but for now the answer is to just keep on writing.

Until next month!
